plenty of pics, lots of pax - and the occasional (vox) pox on all our houses

Waiting outside Upton Library

Daughter's getting restless and can't stop badgering me for a contract on her phone.

Time to go home and do some blogging I think. (Or maybe explain one more time why contracts are a bad idea and *then* go home and do some blogging.)

Approaching Chester

Fascinating trip to London now over. Back to Chester via Virgin Trains. If you ever get the chance to visit the Fleet River Bakery at Lincoln's Inn Fields, please do so. The americano is magnificent.

Meanwhile, today I had the best clotted cream and scone I've ever had in my life. Where? At the Wellcome Trust cafe in Euston Road. (Why even the McDonalds opposite King's Cross makes you feel you can't outstay your welcome ...)

London *is* different.

Torrefacto (II)

This is from Portugal. Both good stuff - both heaven on earth.

Torrefacto (I)

My favourite coffee is torrefacto. This is from Spain.

Driving back to Chester on the M53

Sun is splendid today. Sad we lost - but daughter cross rather than despondent.

Just been thrashed by Wallasey Wanderers - we will live to fight another day.

Massive mushroom in our front garden ...

... but is it OK to eat? No idea ...

Rite of Passage

We're on the way back home after taking our eldest to university. It seems more of a rite of passage for us than him. Even so, we are joyful. And we are glad he has the opportunity to do what he would like to do.

You can tell I like the sun

Especially in the mornings.

Sun setting over Wealstone Playing Fields

Windy and a touch cold this afternoon. Am going for a quick coffee at the Wheatsheaf.

Beautiful light and shade in Caughall Road today

Off to lunch at the Wheatsheaf. Crisp air. Sound of hedges being cut. Great afternoon.

Brilliant job offer from Bull & Stirrup Hotel in Chester!

This couldn't fail to catch my eye as I walked home this afternoon. :-)
